Join Techfirm as an Automation Expert

Become a vital part of Lonza’s Automation team, collaborating with 30 specialists on transformative projects, such as implementing a comprehensive MES system change and facilitating technology transfers for mammalian bioprocessing. In this role, you will manage critical automation tasks, work closely with deployment partners, and lead technical validation efforts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain automation-related specifications and documentation.
  • Perform offline and online coding, testing, and peer reviews of automation components.
  • Lead execution of Automation Change Records (ACRs), Quality Change Records, and commissioning test documentation.
  • Act as the automation point of contact for unit operations, driving issue resolution and change implementation for complex projects.
  • Assess proposed changes and analyze discrepancies during manufacturing.
  • Troubleshoot process, equipment, and system malfunctions or failures.
  • Contribute to setting automation policies and standards on site.
  • Implement innovative automation approaches to enhance quality and efficiency.
  • Manage and collaborate with external deployment teams, serving as a project manager to validate technical deliverables.
  • Focus on recipe writing and the transition from Syncade to PharmaSuite MES, reviewing supplier outputs and coordinating approvals.

Candidate Profiles

  • Position 1: Strong expertise in DeltaV DCS systems.
  • Position 2: Strong expertise in MES PharmaSuite, with Syncade experience considered a plus.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in automation within the pharmaceutical or related industries.
  • Strong knowledge of MES systems (particularly PharmaSuite) and DCS control platforms (DeltaV), or both depending on the role.
  • Experience in managing MES system implementations and complex interface configurations between DeltaV, SAP, LIMS, and MES.
  • Proven skills in project management working with internal and external teams.
  • Excellent English communication skills (working language of the team).
  • Comfortable working in a multicultural, gender-balanced team environment.

Contract Details

  • Start Date: Between 15 September and 15 October 2025.
  • Duration: Minimum 1 year with extension already requested.
  • Interview process: One-stage interview, onsite or remote.
