Position: Automation & Control System Engineer
The Automation & Control Engineer will be responsible for managing control system-related projects, providing analysis and technical assistance for service contracts and product upgrades, drawing upon their extensive knowledge of our gas turbines.
Your Tasks
- Coordinate developments and perform modifications in the control system logic of our gas turbines.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and upgrade control system hardware (system processors, I/O cards, and networks).
- Provide assistance and troubleshooting guidelines to plant operations and maintenance teams.
- Support and supervise suppliers during project execution.
- Specify and conduct factory acceptance tests.
- Address Process Control issues effectively.
- Create and provide project-specific technical input for other service teams.
- Edit manuals, test procedures, and reports.
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with EHS standards.
Your Profile
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronic Engineering.
- Knowledge of principles and methods used in Process Control is required.
- Experience in control system programming, troubleshooting, and commissioning is essential.
- Familiarity with ABB lnfi90 / Symphony+, Siemens TXP/T3000, Emerson Ovation, ABB Advant (Egatrol/Turbotrol), and ALSPA (Controgas/Controsteam) is preferred.
- Expertise in I&C loop and bus network design is a plus.
- Experience with MATLAB/Simulink is beneficial.
- Able to analyze information, draw conclusions, and take action to resolve Process Control-related issues.
- Willingness to travel globally approximately 50% of the time.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are preferred.
- Proficiency in Italian and English; knowledge of German and/or French is advantageous.
- Strong commitment to delivering according to quality, time, and cost targets.
