Automation & Control System Engineer

The Automation & Control Engineer is responsible for managing control system-related projects and providing analysis and technical assistance for service contracts and product upgrades, drawing upon a comprehensive understanding of our gas turbines.

Your Responsibilities

  • Coordinate developments and implement modifications in control system logic for our gas turbines.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and upgrade control system hardware, including system processors, I/O cards, and networks.
  • Offer assistance and troubleshooting guidelines to plant operations and maintenance teams.
  • Support and supervise suppliers during project execution.
  • Specify and conduct factory acceptance tests.
  • Address and resolve Process Control issues, creating project-specific technical input for other service teams.
  • Edit manuals, test procedures, and reports.
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with EHS standards.

Your Profile

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronic Engineering.
  • Knowledge of principles and methods used in Process Control is essential.
  • Experience in control system programming, troubleshooting, and commissioning is required.
  • Familiarity with ABB Infi90/Symphony+, Siemens TXP/T3000, Emerson Ovation, ABB Advant (Egatrol/Turbotrol), and ALSPA (Controgas/Controsteam) is preferred.
  • Expertise in I&C loop and bus network design is preferred.
  • Experience with Matlab/Simulink is preferred.
  • Able to analyze information, draw conclusions, and resolve Process Control-related issues.
  • Willingness to travel globally up to 50% of the time.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are preferred.
  • Fluency in Italian and English; proficiency in German and/or French is advantageous.
  • Strong commitment to meeting quality, time, and cost targets.
