We are looking to strengthen our team in Baden, Switzerland, with your expertise and experience as a GT Automation & Control Engineer.

Scope of Work

Your work will encompass the control system hardware, electrical power sub-distribution systems, instrumentation solutions, and dedicated protection/monitoring systems for heavy-duty gas turbines. You will focus on engineering and project execution in close collaboration with our suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define the technical requirements for control system hardware and electrical power sub-distribution apparatus for the gas turbines and auxiliary systems.
  • Determine control system and bus network architectures.
  • Design electrical power sub-distribution panels.
  • Define appropriate instrumentation solutions for temperature, pressure, level, mass/volume flow, and fuel gas composition measurement.
  • Design I&C and low voltage power loops, including sensors, cabling & shielding, and junction boxes for field instrumentation, drives, and actuators.
  • Specify and configure dedicated monitoring systems and associated sensors for parameter supervision, integrating them within the gas turbine control system.
  • Customize automation and control system scope according to client requirements.
  • Prepare technical purchase specifications.
  • Monitor suppliers to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Accompany factory acceptance tests.
  • Support site erection and commissioning activities, followed by handover to after-sales service.

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Automation Engineering.
  • Professional experience in the design and project execution of automation systems in power or process plant engineering.
  • Familiarity with associated design directives, codes, and standards: LV Directive (2014/35/EU); LV switchgears (IEC 61439); EMC Directive (2014/30/EU); Explosive Atmospheres (IEC 60079). Knowledge/experience in Functional Safety (IEC 61508) is a plus.
  • Proficiency with engineering tools for electrical & process automation, preferably EPLAN.
  • Strong commitment to deliver quality results within time and cost constraints.
  • Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • A collaborative team player.
  • Fluent in English; proficiency in German is an advantage, and knowledge of Italian is a bonus.
