Join Our Team as a GT Automation & Control Engineer

Your Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for the control system hardware, electrical power sub-distribution systems, instrumentation solutions, and dedicated protection/monitoring systems for heavy-duty gas turbines. Your focus will be on engineering and project execution, collaborating closely with our suppliers.

  • Define the technical requirements for control system hardware and electrical power sub-distribution apparatus for the gas turbine and its auxiliary systems.
  • Determine control system and bus network architectures.
  • Design electrical power sub-distribution panels.
  • Identify appropriate instrumentation solutions for temperature, pressure, level, mass/volume flow measurement, and fuel gas composition.
  • Design instrumentation and control (I&C) and low voltage power loops, including sensors, cabling and shielding, and junction boxes for field instrumentation, drives, and actuators.
  • Specify and configure dedicated monitoring systems and associated sensors (e.g., bearing vibration, combustor flame, pulsations, and shaft speed) for integration within the gas turbine control system.
  • Customize automation and control systems according to client requirements.
  • Prepare technical purchase specifications.
  • Oversee suppliers to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Support factory acceptance tests.
  • Assist in site erection and commissioning activities, leading to a smooth handover to after-sales service.

Your Profile

  • Degree in Electrical/Automation Engineering.
  • Professional experience in designing and executing automation systems in power or process plant engineering.
  • Familiarity with relevant design directives and codes & standards, such as LV Directive (2014/35/EU), LV switchgears (IEC 61439), EMC Directive (2014/30/EU), and Explosive Atmospheres (IEC 60079). Knowledge of Functional Safety (IEC 61508) is a plus.
  • Proficiency with engineering tools for electrical & process automation (preferably EPLAN).
  • A strong commitment to delivering quality results within time and budget constraints.
  • Critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • A collaborative team player.
  • Excellent command of English; proficiency in German and additional knowledge of Italian are advantages.
