Join Our Team as a GT Automation & Control Engineer
As one of the world’s leading players in the power generation sector, Ansaldo Energia is a full-cycle integrated operator, equipped to construct turnkey power plants on greenfield sites. We utilize our proprietary technology and maintain independent design, production, construction, commissioning, and service resources.
We are currently looking to strengthen our team in Baden, Switzerland, and invite talented individuals with expertise and experience to apply.
Your Scope of Work
Your responsibilities will include:
Defining the technical requirements for control system hardware and electrical power sub-distribution systems for gas turbines and their auxiliary components.
Determining control system and bus network architectures.
Designing electrical power sub-distribution panels.
Establishing suitable instrumentation solutions for temperature, pressure, level measurements, mass/volume flow, and fuel gas composition.
Designing instrumentation and control (I&C) systems and low voltage power loops, including sensors, cabling, shielding, and junction boxes for field instrumentation, drives, and actuators.
Specifying and configuring dedicated monitoring systems and associated sensors for supervision of bearing vibrations, combustor flames, pulsations, and shaft speed, integrating them into the gas turbine control system.
Customizing the automation and control system scope according to client requirements.
Preparing technical purchase specifications.
Monitoring suppliers to ensure compliance with project requirements.
Accompanying factory acceptance tests and supporting site erection and commissioning activities, as well as handover to after-sales service.
Your Profile
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
A degree in Electrical/Automation Engineering.
Professional experience in the design and project execution of automation systems in the field of power or process plant engineering.
Familiarity with design directives and codes & standards, including LV Directive (2014/35/EU), LV switchgears (IEC 61439), EMC Directive (2014/30/EU), Explosive Atmospheres (IEC 60079); knowledge/experience in Functional Safety (IEC 61508) is an advantage.
Proficient with engineering tools for electrical & process automation (preferably EPLAN).
Strong commitment to quality, timeliness, and cost-effectiveness.
Critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
Team player with excellent command of English; knowledge of German or Italian is a plus.
