As a member of the Audit Quality & Risk Management (“AQRM”) team, you will play a pivotal role as a Subject Matter Expert, promoting a culture of sound quality and risk management by advising and supporting our Audit & Assurance practitioners. Your expertise will be vital in mitigating various risk areas, thereby protecting the firm’s reputation while enabling the business to achieve its objectives.

How You Can Make an Impact

  • You will provide AQRM support to Audit & Assurance practitioners across all Swiss offices, engaging with a variety of industries including Financial Services and Corporate Industries.
  • You will participate in accounting discussions under international standards (USGAAP, IFRS) as well as Swiss requirements (Swiss GAAP FER, Swiss Code of Obligations).
  • Your work will involve addressing audit methodology questions and consultations related to both internal (Deloitte Audit Methodology) and external requirements, including Generally Accepted Audit Standards (e.g., U.S. GAAS, International Standards of Auditing [ISA], Swiss Standards on Auditing).
  • In close collaboration with your AQRM colleagues and Audit & Assurance professionals, you will conduct Monitoring & Measurement activities (e.g., internal inspections, diagnostics, health checks) and work independently while benefiting from expert advice.
  • You will actively contribute to the development of our AQRM services (e.g., assurance, ESG, data privacy) and participate in Audit & Assurance compliance activities regarding independence, learning, and other policies and procedures.
  • Alongside your role in the AQRM department, you are encouraged to engage in selected Audit & Assurance projects to observe best practices and identify areas for enhancement, which AQRM can support to further strengthen our commitment to Audit Quality and increase trust in our financial market services.

Who We Are Looking For

  • You hold a degree in financial accounting or auditing and have a keen interest in compliance.
  • You possess strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail, and demonstrate organizational efficiency in managing multiple concurrent tasks.
  • Your interpersonal and communication skills allow you to build solid relationships with practitioners at all levels, up to partners, while offering constructive challenges when necessary.
  • You have 6-8 years of experience in professional services, ideally with a background in financial accounting, auditing, Swiss Law, or international accounting and auditing standards.
  • You are fluent in English; proficiency in German, French, or Italian would be advantageous.
