About the Department

The position is part of the IO-SO Medical, Marketing & Regulatory team, based in International Operations. Our department leads innovation and transformation within the organization. We are a dynamic and collaborative team dedicated to enhancing commercial operations and delivering impactful outcomes. Focusing on digital enablement, customer engagement, and enterprise capability building, we strive to make a meaningful difference for Novo Nordisk and the patients we serve.

International Operations is the largest operational unit in Novo Nordisk, covering 194 countries and 95% of the world’s population. Approximately 503 million people in these countries live with diabetes, while an estimated 987 million live with obesity. IO serves over 33 million patients each day. It operates across five regions on every continent, with a head office (IO Strategic Operations) based in Zurich, Switzerland. Our diverse organization includes over 16,000 employees, with a 52/48% gender split (m/f) and 113 nationalities.

The ambition of the IO-SO and Region Emerging Markets units in Hub Zurich is to act as a talent incubator, offering mobile talents opportunities to gain international experience, broaden their skillsets, and collaborate closely across functions and geographies with senior management. Employees in these units will gain exposure and commercial insights, facilitating life-changing international career opportunities. We aim to transfer talent, knowledge, and expertise across the value chain, which fosters organic succession and skill development within Novo Nordisk. Therefore, employees are expected to transition to other parts of the organization outside Hub Zurich (e.g., affiliates, BA, regional offices, or other EVP areas) after 3-5 years, benefiting from their skills and experiences while allowing other talents to rotate into the talent incubator.
