Join Our Team as an Associate Scientist in Synthetic Chemistry

Proclinical is collaborating with a growing biopharmaceutical organization to find an Associate Scientist to enhance its expanding synthetic chemistry and drug discovery team. This is an exciting opportunity for early-career synthetic chemists, organic chemists, or chemistry graduates to gain invaluable industry experience while contributing to the discovery of innovative small-molecule medicines. Prior experience in medicinal chemistry is not required.

Working Pattern

Laboratory-based (5 days per week)

Responsibilities

  • Synthesize and purify small-molecule compounds on a milligram-to-gram scale
  • Support synthetic route design and optimization
  • Utilize organic synthesis, chromatography, and preparative HPLC techniques
  • Analyze and interpret NMR, LC-MS, and HPLC data
  • Troubleshoot synthetic, purification, and analytical challenges
  • Maintain accurate experimental records
  • Present results and collaborate with multidisciplinary scientists
  • Support safe and effective laboratory operations

Requirements

  • BSc or MSc in chemistry, organic chemistry, synthetic chemistry, or a related discipline
  • Practical synthetic chemistry experience gained through employment, an industrial placement, internship, or academic research project
  • Knowledge of organic synthesis and compound purification
  • Familiarity with NMR, LC-MS, HPLC, or chromatography
  • Strong attention to detail, along with excellent communication and teamwork skills
