Join Our Team as an Associate Scientist

As our Associate Scientist, you will become an integral part of CREAAS (Centre for Research Analytics, Application, and Solutions) and play a key role within the innovation hub of dsm-firmenich, known as HNC (Health Nutrition & Care). You will focus on the development of applications and solutions, with an emphasis on galenic format innovations and the optimization of solid dosage forms.

Your primary responsibility will be to lead and execute projects that translate cutting-edge science into impactful, scalable solutions. This includes optimizing bioactive delivery and enhancing product stability. You will also contribute to the development of Investigational Products for dietary supplement clinical studies and support other stakeholders in the patent application process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Running experiments and managing multiple Pharma and Dietary Supplement projects.
  • Developing formulations, including solid dosage formats, and monitoring their stability.
  • Initiating or supporting innovation projects aimed at improving drug delivery systems.
  • Supporting projects focused on the development of Market-Ready Solutions (MRS).
  • Providing technical and scientific support for patent applications and technical reports.
  • Coordinating and collaborating with other scientists and technicians to ensure the timely development of Investigational Products for clinical studies.

What We Offer

  • An opportunity to balance lab work with providing scientific technical support to external customers and internal stakeholders.
  • A space to grow, fostering curiosity and an open mindset.
  • A flexible work environment that empowers individuals to take accountability for their work and outcomes.
  • Barrier-free communities within our organization, where every employee is valued and respected, regardless of background, beliefs, or identity.
  • A rich history and promising future driven by bold scientific innovation and passionate collaboration with our customers.
  • A culture that prioritizes safety and well-being, both physically and mentally.

About You

  • You hold a Master’s Degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences with hands-on experience in solid dosage formulation development (e.g., tablets, capsules) and standard analytical techniques (e.g., dissolution, stability testing). Experience with other galenic formats is advantageous.
  • You are familiar with lipid nanoparticle preparation and characterization methods (e.g., Microfluidic Technology, Dynamic Light Scattering, Zeta Potential Measurement) and associated biological analysis.
  • You possess the capability to independently identify solutions, execute experiments, analyze data, and extrapolate results.
  • You have previous experience with drug delivery systems and a knack for providing technical support for patent applications in the drug and dietary supplements sectors.
  • Project management skills, especially within the context of pharmaceutical or dietary supplement product development, are a significant advantage.
  • You are a true team player who collaborates effectively with diverse technical and non-technical stakeholders.
