Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced professional in the field of Radioisotope production and related technologies, with a focus on isotope separation technologies and isotope development to support our expanding portfolio. Our unit is dedicated to the successful execution of a diverse range of isotope-related projects, commencing with early strategic and operational discussions on isotope production technologies, assembling internal teams, and executing desired strategies. You will provide technical leadership during early process development and assess the developability of selected isotope separation technologies.
You will report to the Head of the Global Isotope Development Unit and lead an Isotope Project Team composed of Isotope Project Leads from various scientific disciplines. Your role will involve optimally organizing people, assets, and equipment to address project needs according to priority, ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality products and solutions.
About the Role
Major Accountabilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional and multidisciplinary teams across multiple NVS global sites to discover and develop efficient RLTs.
- Build and lead an internal Project Management team of experimental scientists and project leads, seeking technical and operational input from key stakeholders to create an effective project execution plan.
- Lead internal project meetings, collect and interpret data to advance the project, adapt strategies, address scientific questions, and document discussions and decisions.
- Guide projects concerning isotope approaches and technologies, leading efforts in developability assessment, manufacturing line development, and early process development.
- Track project progress by maintaining an overview of goals, activities, commitments, and timelines, while managing risks and optimizing project plans and resource allocations.
- Contribute to vendor/CRO evaluations, coordination of outsourcing requests, budget monitoring, and communication regarding external collaborations and due diligence.
- Plan R&D programs and recommend technological application programs to achieve long-range objectives.
- Support scientific decision-making by providing advice and recommendations to project teams globally.
- Develop concepts and propose approaches to address identified needs in medical devices, science, or technology.
- Provide technical advice and represent the organization in external discussions and technical forums.
- Originate and apply complex concepts, introducing unique methods and designs through innovative thinking.
- Ensure product and process continuity through feasibility assessments, research, design, development, and compliance with requirements.
- Provide leadership direction, coordinating resources to devise solutions for complex problems.
Minimum Requirements:
- PhD with a strong background in Radiochemistry and radioisotope production technologies desired.
- 5+ years of relevant radio/pharma experience, including the industrialization of radioisotopes.
- Proven success in a leadership position, working with international and multidisciplinary development teams.
- Ambitious, collaborative, and committed to team and project success.
- Results and quality-oriented, with the ability to navigate conflicting interests to ensure project progress.
- Excellent project management, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Creative thinker with strong problem-solving abilities, detail-oriented yet capable of seeing the bigger picture.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and change; eager and fast learner willing to adopt new tools and processes.
- Capable of operating effectively in a fast-paced dynamic environment while managing multiple communications and requests simultaneously.
