The position of Assistant Professor Tenure Track Transition is set to commence on August 1, 2026, at the Faculty of Theology, University of Bern.
The successful candidate will engage in teaching and research activities in collaboration with the professorship for "Literature and Theology of the Old Testament" (Prof. Dr. Andreas Wagner) and the lectureship for "Biblical Theology and Its Contemporary Relevance" (Dr. Nancy Rahn). Candidates are expected to complete a postdoctoral qualification if they have not already done so, and work towards developing their own research and teaching profile.

We are seeking a candidate with an outstanding doctoral degree in Old Testament, Hebrew Bible Studies, or a related field. An excellent command of biblical languages is essential, and knowledge of ancient Oriental languages is desirable. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual eager to further develop their teaching and research profile. Applicants with university-level teaching experience or relevant teaching qualifications are particularly encouraged to apply.
