Job Opportunity: IT Asset Manager (ITAM)

The UCC IT Asset Manager (ITAM) provides expertise in the IT Asset Management lifecycle, with a strong focus on Software Asset Management aspects. The successful candidate will handle software requests, conduct regular license pooling and checks, and oversee the deployment and retirement of both hardware and software assets.

The ITAM will analyze large volumes of software entitlements in conjunction with deployment data, support IT and procurement teams in developing licensing models, optimize license usage based on key drivers (e.g., number of transactions, card users, etc.), and maintain effective license positions with various software publishers.

Additionally, the IT Asset Manager will continuously enhance the IT asset management processes, especially regarding Software Asset Management. This includes performing gap analyses between current practices and best practices, while leading the implementation of improved processes and any necessary new toolsets.

Your Role

  • Understand and implement key IT asset management concepts, particularly in software asset management.
  • Support procurement efforts by developing new licensing models, negotiating software contracts, and managing IT asset tasks for hardware and software throughout the procurement, operation, and retirement lifecycle to optimize IT spending.
  • Oversee internal and external software audits to ensure compliance and optimization.
  • Provide accurate asset reporting, create dashboards for IT and Controlling functions, and ensure adherence to procurement, IT security, as well as risk and compliance procedures.
  • Offer ad-hoc administrative support related to IT Asset Management and facilitate process gap analyses to improve the ITAM discipline further.
  • Deliver excellent customer service and maintain effective teamwork across organizations.

Your Expertise

  • Experience as an IT Asset Manager or in a similar role, with proficiency in enterprise software asset management tools.
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing a comprehensive IT (Software) Asset Management process.
  • Strong analytical skills for compiling data and metrics to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Knowledge of SAM tools and technologies, including Flexera, ServiceNow, BMC Remedy, or equivalent enterprise software asset management platforms.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), with the capability to engage proactively with management at all organizational levels in both German and English.
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams and effectively managing stakeholders from various backgrounds.
  • Bachelor's degree, advanced federal diploma, or vocational qualification in IT or Business Management.
