Your Responsibilities
As a member of the HDDS platform, you will be responsible for:
- Supporting scientific projects with their complex data analysis tasks.
- Helping and advising researchers on integrating our software into their workflows and projects.
- Recruiting new users through systematic outreach efforts.
- Collaborating with the HDDS, Microscopy Innovation Platform, and URPP AdaBD in general.
- Participating in writing scientific papers.
- Creating documentation materials, example datasets, and tutorials for the software provided by the HDDS platform.
- Proposing and implementing useful extensions of the software by utilizing third-party tools and novel custom methods.
- Attending conferences to present the HDDS software and approach.
Your Profile
The ideal candidate should possess a solid background in natural sciences, preferably in neuroscience or related fields, along with a strong theoretical and practical understanding of data science methods in the context of anatomical, functional, and behavioral data. Specifically, you should have:
- A master's degree or PhD in neuroscience, biomedicine, computer science, physics, or related fields.
- An excellent understanding of data analysis methods for anatomical and functional imaging data in a neuroscience context, especially regarding multi-modal, high-dimensional, and large data sets.
- A curiosity-driven and experiment-oriented mindset.
- A willingness to become an expert user of the HDDS software.
- An academic track record with published papers in esteemed journals or conference proceedings.
- Excellent programming skills, particularly in MATLAB, along with solid knowledge of Python or Java.
- The ability to understand, work with, and potentially extend complex software architectures.
- Strong time-management skills to support both short (several months) and long (several years) project collaborations.
- Good communication skills.
