Join Our Team as an Animal Caretaker
We are seeking a dedicated Animal Caretaker for the Experimental Animal Center (EAC) to start as soon as possible or by mutual agreement. The initial tenure for this position is limited to one year, with the possibility of extension.
Responsibilities
Provide professional animal care while monitoring and recording animal health.
Breed genetically modified experimental animals.
Maintain hygiene standards and cleanliness.
Record animal data in our computer system.
Perform specific tasks such as conducting skin biopsies for genotyping.
Clean materials, equipment, and facilities in accordance with hygiene regulations.
Assist in the operational maintenance of equipment and manage goods receipt and storage.
Participate in animal care duties on a rotational basis during weekends and holidays.
Requirements
A completed professional training in animal care or the agricultural field.
A strong sense of responsibility towards the animals entrusted to your care.
Reliability, quick comprehension, resilience, and a precise, efficient work style.
A communicative working style, flexibility, and a passion for teamwork are essential for our agile service-oriented environment.
Proficiency in computer skills, particularly MS Word and MS Excel.
Good knowledge of German; English skills at level A2 are a plus.
