Job Opportunity: Animal Caretaker at the Experimental Animal Center (EAC)
We are seeking a dedicated Animal Caretaker to join our team at the Experimental Animal Center (EAC), with an anticipated start date as soon as possible or by agreement. This position is initially limited to one year, with the possibility of extension.
Responsibilities
- Providing professional animal care and monitoring the health of animals.
- Breeding genetically modified experimental animals.
- Maintaining hygiene standards.
- Recording animal data in our computer system.
- Performing specific services, such as taking skin biopsies for genotyping.
- Cleaning materials, equipment, and facilities in accordance with hygiene regulations.
- Assisting with the operational maintenance of equipment, as well as handling goods receipt and storage.
- Participating in animal care duties on a rotational basis during weekends and holidays.
Requirements
- Completion of professional training in animal care or in a related agricultural field.
- A strong sense of responsibility for the animals under your care.
- Reliability, quick comprehension, resilience, and the ability to work efficiently and accurately.
- A communicative, flexible, and team-oriented working style, particularly in an agile service environment.
- Proficiency in computer skills, particularly MS Word and MS Excel.
- Good knowledge of German; proficiency in English (at least A2 level) is advantageous.
