Job Opportunity: Animal Caretaker at the Experimental Animal Center (EAC)
We are seeking a dedicated Animal Caretaker for the Experimental Animal Center (EAC) to start as soon as possible or by agreement. The position is initially limited to one year, with the possibility of extension.
Responsibilities
- Provide professional animal care, monitoring, and recording animal health.
- Breed genetically modified experimental animals.
- Maintain hygiene standards.
- Record animal data in the computer system.
- Perform specific services, such as taking skin biopsies for genotyping.
- Clean materials, equipment, and rooms according to hygiene regulations.
- Assist in the operational maintenance of equipment, as well as in goods receipt and storage.
- Participate in animal care duties on a rotational basis, including weekends and holidays.
Requirements
- Completed professional training in animal care or in a related agricultural field.
- A strong sense of responsibility towards entrusted animals.
- Reliability, quick comprehension, resilience, and a precise and efficient working style.
- A communicative approach, flexibility, and a passion for teamwork in an agile service-oriented environment.
- Computer skills, including proficiency in MS Word and MS Excel.
- Good knowledge of German; proficiency in English (level A2) is an advantage.
