Job Opportunity: Animal Caretaker at the Experimental Animal Center (EAC)
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Animal Caretaker for the Experimental Animal Center (EAC), starting on April 1, 2025, or by agreement. This position is initially limited to one year, with the possibility of extension.
Responsibilities
Provide professional care for animals, monitoring and recording their health.
Manage the breeding of genetically modified experimental animals.
Maintain hygiene standards across animal care facilities.
Record and manage animal data using our computer system.
Perform specific services, such as taking skin biopsies for genotyping.
Ensure the cleaning of materials, equipment, and rooms according to hygiene regulations.
Assist in the operational maintenance of equipment and support goods receipt and storage.
Participate in animal care duties on a rotational basis during weekends and holidays.
Requirements
Completion of professional training in animal care or a related agricultural field.
A strong sense of responsibility toward the animals in your care.
Reliability, a quick comprehension, resilience, and efficient working methods.
A communicative working style, coupled with the flexibility and enjoyment of teamwork.
Proficiency in computer skills, including MS Word and MS Excel.
Good knowledge of German; English skills at level A2 are advantageous.
