Job Opportunity: Animal Caretaker at the Experimental Animal Center (EAC)
We are seeking an Animal Caretaker to join our team at the Experimental Animal Center (EAC) as soon as possible or by agreement. This position is initially limited to one year, with the possibility of extension.
Responsibilities
Provide professional animal care while monitoring and recording animal health.
Assist in the breeding of genetically modified experimental animals.
Maintain hygiene standards throughout the facility.
Record animal data accurately in the computer system.
Perform specific services such as taking skin biopsies for genotyping.
Clean materials, equipment, and rooms in accordance with hygiene regulations.
Assist with the operational maintenance of equipment and manage goods receipt and storage.
Participate in animal care duties on a rotational basis during weekends and holidays.
Requirements
Completed professional training in animal care or in the agricultural field.
A strong sense of responsibility towards the animals in your care.
Reliability, quick comprehension, resilience, and a meticulous working approach.
A service-oriented mindset with excellent communication skills, adaptability, and a team-oriented attitude.
Proficiency in computer applications, specifically MS Word and MS Excel.
Good command of German, with English skills (level A2) considered an advantage.
