Title:

Analyst – Specialist Situations

Purpose of Role

The Analyst will be responsible for conducting market research, assisting in the analysis of new investments, and supporting the monitoring and management of existing investments on a day-to-day basis.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing and analyzing research materials related to companies, industry sectors, and economic trends.
• Gathering market information through discussions with brokers and company representatives, collaborating with other analysts, and conducting research to formulate trading ideas for asset managers.
• Running financial models and providing investment recommendations to asset managers for both short- and long-term securities.
• Conducting back-testing of trading strategies and preparing valuation models as required.
• Providing regular research updates to asset managers.
• Receiving, reviewing, and cross-checking information from financial models and brokers’ reports.
• Preparing and printing research materials for analysts, as well as handling ad hoc requests related to meeting notes, models, news reports, and research filing.
• Promoting the use of chat system inputs from team meetings and monitoring participation.
• Managing hard copy subscriptions and channels for news reports, including the Financial Times and Wall Street Journal, while downloading and disseminating data as needed.
• Collating current survey results and peer group reports for team distribution.

Skills and Experience

• Active investment experience in strategies such as Relative Value trades and SPACs (Special Purpose Acquisition Companies).
• Experience in Merger Arbitrage using options.
• 10+ years of direct industry experience.
• Advanced understanding of Prime Broker platforms and optimization of financing.
• Experience managing investments in both UCITS and offshore formats.
• Recognition through industry awards on multiple occasions.
