Your Crew

Join our multidisciplinary team of 11 engineers, where you’ll assist in the industrialization and support of serial production of launch vehicle structures in Emmen (LU). You'll work in a multicultural environment, closely collaborating with development engineering and our operations organization while engaging with a broad range of technologies. Your Mission

  • Conduct and lead analysis tasks autonomously within your dedicated field, managing high complexity tasks with or without supervision:
    • Define analysis approaches to investigate mechanical design problems, changes, and improvements, and verify solutions.
    • Provide inputs to technical and procurement specifications.
    • Establish analysis methods and create and maintain mathematical models for static and dynamic FE analysis.
    • Perform static and dynamic analysis, along with updates/improvements to support the evolution of the product.
    • Conduct detailed stress and strength verification analysis.
    • Manage test predictions, evaluations, and correlations.
    • Conduct mass reviews and provide inputs into ADPs.
    • Perform flight predictions and post-flight evaluations, supporting the resolution of post-flight findings.
  • Support your engineering field during product development, production support, innovation, and projects.
  • Participate in Non-Conformance Review Boards (NRBs) according to the NC process, actively proposing technical solutions in your field of activity. Implement lessons learned.
  • Proactively communicate and align cross-functionally with adjacent engineering fields and departments outside engineering, such as operations, quality, procurement, and others.
  • Support processes and continuous product improvements to deliver in line with customer quality, cost, and demand. Propose market-oriented initiatives to enhance existing products, technologies, and production processes.
  • Write and review technical documentation (e.g., test plans, analysis reports) and project-related deliverables, adapting to product- and mission-specific requirements.
  • Utilize project management techniques and tools to meet cost, technical, and schedule requirements, and support the Technical Lead in progress reporting.
  • Understand and comply with internal BPM.
  • Act as work package/task manager, owning technical, budget, and schedule responsibilities for fulfilling tasks assigned by projects.
  • Support your engineering field during negotiations and reviews with customers and suppliers or subcontractors.
  • Assist in the onboarding of peers and provide support in ramping up newcomers.
  • Collaborate with the bidding team for proposals and quotations.
  • Participate in the recruitment process.
  • Coach interns, students, contractors, and junior engineers.

Your Profile

  • University/ETH master’s degree in mechanical engineering or aerospace engineering.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in an aerospace company (or equivalent relevant experience) in the fields of:
    • FE Analysis with NASTRAN, Hyperworks, and/or Abaqus.
    • Detailed stress analysis.
    • Mechanical engineering.
  • Advanced knowledge in FE analysis with NASTRAN, Hyperworks, and/or Abaqus to efficiently create FE models and perform analysis.
  • Advanced English language skills (reading, writing, and speaking).

Nice to Haves

  • Experience in the analysis of payload fairings and other launcher structures.
  • Experience in test prediction and correlation of structures and components, both static and dynamic.
  • Advanced knowledge in detailed stress analysis using aerospace methods.
  • Advanced knowledge in the mechanical layout of aerospace structures and components.
  • Advanced knowledge in the analysis of composites and composite structures.
