Your Mission
- Conduct analysis tasks without supervision, including:
- Defining analysis approaches to investigate mechanical design problems or verify solutions.
- Establishing analysis methods and creating mathematical models for static and dynamic FE analysis.
- Performing static and dynamic analysis, test predictions, test evaluations, and correlations.
- Conducting detailed stress and strength verification analysis.
- Support in your engineering field during product development, production support, innovation, and projects.
- Proactively communicate and align cross-functionally with adjacent engineering fields and departments outside of engineering such as operations, quality, procurement, and other teams.
- Support processes and product continuous improvements to deliver in line with customer quality, cost, and demand.
- Propose market-oriented initiatives to improve existing products, technologies, and production processes.
- Write and review technical documentation (e.g., test plans, analysis reports), project-related deliverables, and other specifications related to your field of work, adapting to product- and mission-specific requirements.
- Act as Work Package / Task Manager, owning technical, budget, and schedule responsibility for tasks assigned by projects.
- Participate in NRBs (Non-Conformance Review Board) according to the NC process and actively propose technical solutions in your field of activity.
- Support your engineering field during negotiations and reviews with customers, suppliers, or subcontractors.
- Assist in the onboarding of peers, providing support in ramping up newcomers.
- Collaborate in the bidding team for proposals, quotations, concept work, and developments.
- Participate in the recruitment process.
- Coach interns/students, contractors, and junior engineers.
Your Story
- University/ETH master's degree in mechanical engineering or aerospace engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in an aerospace company (or equivalent relevant experience).
- Experience in test prediction and correlation of structures and components, static and dynamic.
- Advanced knowledge in FE analysis with the solvers NASTRAN, Hyperworks, and ABAQUS.
- Good knowledge in analysis of composites and sandwich structures.
- Nice to have:
- Experience in analysis of payload fairing and other launcher structures.
- Knowledge in detailed stress analysis using aerospace methods.
- Knowledge in mechanical layout of aerospace structures and components.
- Separation analysis using ABAQUS.
- Knowledge in VBA, Python.
