Job Opportunity: All-round Service Technician Railway Infrastructure

Are you looking for a technical field service role where you can literally keep the Dutch railway in motion? If you thrive on solving malfunctions under time pressure, particularly when the rest of the country is asleep, and seek to work for an organization that invests heavily in your development and provides top-notch equipment, then this opportunity is for you!

We are seeking an All-round Service Technician Railway Infrastructure to join an international leader in railway infrastructure, known for its innovative systems and components. As a key player in this organization, you will be responsible for ensuring that train traffic resumes safely and quickly whenever a malfunction occurs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Repairing, adjusting, replacing, and maintaining switch systems, compensation joints, and crossings.
  • Revising and restoring switch control systems.
  • Installing and testing electric and fluid-controlled switch heating systems.
  • Quickly analyzing and resolving malfunctions in signaling installations.
  • Participating in a 24/7 fault service (approximately once every four weeks).
  • Communicating on-site with contractors and providing direct technical advice.

Who We Are Looking For

The ideal candidate will:

  • Possess at least an MBO-2 work and thinking level.
  • Have a background in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, mechanics, or civil engineering.
  • Be comfortable with regular night and weekend work.
  • Be flexible and willing to travel for malfunctions throughout the Netherlands.
  • Learn quickly, be practically oriented, and have a desire to further develop within a specialist field.
  • Remain calm under pressure and resolve malfunctions efficiently.

What We Offer

In return for your expertise, we offer:

  • A competitive salary between €3,500 and €4,800 gross per month, excluding irregularity allowances, plus a fixed year-end bonus.
  • Excellent conditions including 27 vacation days, 13 ADV days, a personal service vehicle, professional tools, and abundant training opportunities.
  • Employment within a stable international organization that boasts an informal culture, along with additional benefits such as a bike/sports plan and study allowances for children through the company fund.

Why This Role Stands Out

This position uniquely combines technology, freedom, and social impact. You will not be confined to one fixed location or standard installations; one night, you may address an acute malfunction at a switch, while the next could involve preventative maintenance on critical railway infrastructure.

If you feel that you align with our needs but may not meet every requirement, we still encourage you to apply, as we value motivation and a strong technical foundation.
