Job Opportunity: Airworthiness Certification Expert
ConsuNova EU Sàrl is seeking a highly experienced Airworthiness Certification Expert to strengthen our certification and consulting team in Switzerland. We are looking for a candidate with expertise in airborne hardware (DO-254) and safety (ARP-4761A). The successful applicant will be responsible for reviewing and overseeing airborne electronic hardware certification activities, verifying compliance on behalf of the design organization, and providing expert guidance, consultancy, and training. This role will also involve functioning as a Compliance Verification Engineer (CVE).
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform independent review and verification of hardware certification documents (Plans, Design data, Verification and Validation records, Compliance reports) against the objectives of DO-254 and applicable AMCs.
- Conduct independent review and verification of safety assessment documents (Plans, FHA, FTA, CCA, etc.) in accordance with the methods defined in ARP-4761A.
- Manage oversight activities for certification projects, ensuring deliverables meet regulatory and guidance requirements.
- Conduct certification reviews (SOIs) based on documentation and applicant evidence.
- Provide professional training and consulting services to customers regarding DO-254 and ARP-4761A objectives, activities, methods, and strategies.
- Support certification authorities during project audits and compliance reviews.
- Act as a Compliance Verification Engineer (CVE) for Panel 10 and/or Panel 12.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in airborne hardware development and certification.
- At least 10 years of experience in avionics development assurance.
- Extensive knowledge of DO-254 and related AMCs/ACs.
- Deep understanding of ARP-4754A/B.
- Familiarity with EASA Part-21 and/or CVE training.
- Experience conducting document and process reviews and audits for certification purposes.
- Strong ability to communicate technical material clearly in English, including conducting training sessions.
- Eligibility for and experience as a Compliance Verification Engineer (CVE).
- Located in Switzerland with the ability to travel and support customers across Europe.
Preferred Qualifications/Experience:
- Knowledge of DO-178C and related supplements.
- Experience working as an Authority.
