About the Company
ANAVIA specializes in the design, development, and manufacturing of vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) systems capable of carrying up to 500 kilograms. Our company offers industry-leading unmanned helicopter systems tailored for various mission profiles, including Surveillance and Reconnaissance, Inspection, Mapping, and Cargo delivery.
Position: Aerodynamics Engineer
As an Aerodynamics Engineer at ANAVIA, you will be responsible for creating innovative aerodynamic profiles using CAD and analyzing as well as optimizing the aerodynamic performance of our unmanned helicopter systems. You will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure that both design and operational requirements are met, contributing to the overall efficiency and safety of our aircraft.
Your Main Tasks
- Conduct aerodynamic analyses of unmanned helicopter designs using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and wind tunnel testing to evaluate performance under various flight conditions.
- Collaborate with design and engineering teams to develop and refine helicopter designs that optimize aerodynamic efficiency, stability, and control.
- Evaluate flight performance metrics, such as lift, drag, and maneuverability, providing recommendations for design improvements based on analytical findings.
- Create and maintain aerodynamic models for simulation and analysis, ensuring they accurately represent the helicopter's performance characteristics.
- Prepare detailed reports and documentation on aerodynamic analyses, including findings, recommendations, and technical specifications for internal and regulatory review.
- Work with multidisciplined teams, including structural engineers, control engineers, and system designers, to ensure the integrated performance of unmanned helicopter systems.
- Stay updated on advancements in aerodynamics and related technologies, incorporating best practices and innovative approaches into design processes.
Your Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field; a master’s degree or Ph.D. is preferred.
- Proven experience in aerodynamics analysis and design, preferably within the aerospace industry.
- Strong understanding of aerodynamics principles, fluid dynamics, and flight mechanics, along with proficiency in CFD software (e.g., ANSYS Fluent, OpenFOAM) and other simulation tools.
- Excellent communication skills, complemented by strong interpersonal abilities and a solid technical understanding.
