About the Company
ANAVIA specializes in the design, development, and manufacturing of vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) systems up to 500 kilograms. The company offers industry-leading unmanned helicopter systems tailored for various mission profiles, including Surveillance & Reconnaissance, Inspection, Mapping, and Cargo.
Position: Aerodynamics Engineer
As an Aerodynamics Engineer, you will be pivotal in creating innovative aerodynamic profiles using CAD, as well as analyzing and optimizing the aerodynamic performance of unmanned helicopter systems. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will ensure that design and operational requirements are met, contributing to the overall efficiency and safety of our aircraft.
Your Main Tasks
- Conduct aerodynamic analyses of unmanned helicopter designs using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and wind tunnel testing to assess performance under various flight conditions.
- Collaborate with design and engineering teams to develop and refine helicopter designs that optimize aerodynamic efficiency, stability, and control.
- Performance Evaluation: Evaluate flight performance metrics such as lift, drag, and maneuverability, providing recommendations for design improvements based on analytical findings.
- Model Development: Create and maintain aerodynamic models for simulation and analysis, ensuring they accurately represent the helicopter's performance characteristics.
- Documentation: Prepare detailed reports and documentation on aerodynamic analyses, including findings, recommendations, and technical specifications for internal and regulatory review.
- Collaboration: Work with multi-disciplinary teams, including structural engineers, control engineers, and system designers, to ensure integrated performance of the unmanned helicopter systems.
- Stay updated on advancements in aerodynamics and related technologies, incorporating best practices and innovative approaches into design processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field; a master’s degree or Ph.D. is preferred.
- Proven experience in aerodynamics analysis and design, preferably in the aerospace industry.
- Strong understanding of aerodynamics principles, fluid dynamics, and flight mechanics; proficiency in CFD software (e.g., ANSYS Fluent, OpenFOAM) and other simulation tools.
- Excellent communication skills and strong interpersonal abilities, complemented by a solid analytical and technical understanding.
