Job Purpose and Impact
The Advisor, Mergers, Acquisitions, Divestitures, and Joint Ventures (MADJV) is a key finance leadership role responsible for executing the organization’s due diligence and integration strategy for relevant merger, acquisition, divestiture, and joint venture projects. As a recognized subject matter expert in this domain, you will lead and mentor teams in coordinating and implementing accounting and finance activities for pre- and post-close financial transitions, collaborating to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of all related activities.
Key Accountabilities
- Policy Maintenance & Improvement: Lead and advise on the development, maintenance, and enhancement of the organization’s due diligence and integration playbooks, ensuring effectiveness, efficiency, and consistency while mitigating risks.
- Playbook Execution: Mentor teams in the coordination and implementation of financial due diligence and integration playbooks across all finance functions, including tax, treasury, accounting, and management. Report risks and issues to corporate development or the integration management office promptly.
- Due Diligence: Cultivate partnerships with third-party due diligence providers and lead the implementation of assigned diligence activities, validating sales, purchase, and transition service agreements according to established financial criteria and advising on legal entity structures.
- Integration & Separation: Collaborate with finance planning, operations, accounting, treasury, and tax teams to develop integration and separation plans for finance activities, including the quantification of finance synergies and costs, and lead valuation firms to support purchase accounting.
- Accounting Support: Partner with accounting and finance operations teams to coordinate the establishment of corporate and local financial organization hierarchies, and maintain accurate purchase price accounting or sales balance sheet models.
- Result Reporting: Integrate results into current local, group, and corporate financial and management reporting processes across financial departments.
- Drives Inclusivity: Foster an inclusive culture through modeling positive behaviors and actions, resolving raised issues promptly with appropriate partners.
- Pipeline Reporting: Provide regular updates to finance leaders on the deal pipeline, informing them of risks and issues while aligning on integration or separation strategies and resource plans.
Qualifications
Minimum requirement of 6 years of relevant work experience; typically reflecting 10 years or more of relevant experience.
