Are you seeking an exciting career opportunity? Look no further! At Numfum GmbH, we are a growing business based in Basel, currently on the lookout for a talented IT Administrator / QA Lead to expand our team and contribute to our innovative projects.

Founded in 2011, Numfum GmbH specializes in bespoke 3D engines and tooling, and is staffed by experienced professionals from the games and entertainment industry. Our core business focuses on developing and maintaining Storm, our in-house cross-platform, lightweight, and compact 3D engine. Storm also includes a 2D UI and a fully-featured audio engine that supports a variety of educational products, including the award-winning K-12 Lexia® Core5® Reading program, used by millions of students and educators worldwide.

Your Responsibilities

IT Administration:

  • Manage and maintain our Windows, Mac, and Debian systems, networking, and other IT infrastructure.
  • Build and maintain custom PCs, including custom water-cooled machine learning hardware.
  • Install, configure, and update software, operating systems, and applications.
  • Monitor system performance and resolve hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access control.
  • Oversee backup and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Ensure data security through firewalls and antivirus software.
  • Support internal users with technical issues and provide training.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest IT trends and technologies.

Quality Assurance:

  • Collaborate with our 3D Engine and Machine Learning teams to support QA testing.
  • Design and implement test strategies while leading QA testing and automating processes.
  • Analyze test results and identify defects.
  • Improve QA processes and methodologies to ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Troubleshoot and debug software issues.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in IT Administration and Quality Assurance.
  • Proficiency in Windows, Linux, and Mac operating systems.
  • Strong knowledge of heterogeneous networks and networking protocols.
  • Experience with network hardware, such as routers and switches.
  • Knowledge of testing tools and automation frameworks.
  • Ability to analyze test results and identify root causes.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with different programming languages (e.g., C++, Rust).
  • Spoken German.
