Join Our Team as an IT Administrator / QA Lead

Numfum GmbH, a Basel-based software development company specializing in bespoke 3D engines and tooling since 2011, is expanding and looking for a talented IT Administrator / QA Lead to contribute to our innovative projects.
At Numfum, our core business revolves around the enhancement and maintenance of Storm, our proprietary cross-platform, lightweight, and compact 3D engine. Storm features a robust 2D UI and a fully functional audio engine, supporting a range of educational products, including the award-winning K-12 Lexia® Core5® Reading program, which is utilized by millions of students and educators worldwide.
Your Responsibilities:
IT Administration:
- Manage and maintain Windows, Mac, and Debian machines, along with other IT infrastructure.
- Build and maintain custom PCs, including maintenance of specialized water-cooled machine learning hardware.
- Install, configure, and update software, operating systems, and applications.
- Monitor system performance and resolve hardware, software, and network issues.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
- Oversee backup and disaster recovery solutions.
- Ensure data security through firewalls and antivirus software.
- Provide technical support and training for internal users.
- Stay informed about the latest IT trends and technologies.
Quality Assurance:
- Collaborate with our 3D Engine and Machine Learning teams, supporting QA testing.
- Design and implement test strategies, lead QA testing, and automate testing processes to ensure software quality.
- Analyze test results and identify defects.
- Enhance QA processes and methodologies to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Troubleshoot and debug software issues.
Qualifications:
REQUIRED:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in IT Administration and Quality Assurance.
- Proficiency in Windows, Linux, and Mac operating systems.
- Strong knowledge of heterogeneous networks and networking protocols.
- Experience with network hardware such as routers and switches.
- Familiarity with testing tools and automation frameworks.
- Ability to analyze test results and identify root causes.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
NICE TO HAVE:
- Experience with various programming languages (e.g., C++, Rust).
- Proficiency in spoken German.
