Administrative Assistant at the Bioethics Lab

The Health Ethics and Policy Lab (https://bioethics.ethz.ch/) addresses ethical and policy challenges in precision medicine and digital health. We are a small team with interdisciplinary expertise in bioethics, philosophy, social sciences, medicine, public health, data science, policy, and law. Our work includes high-level scholarship, participation in international research and policy networks, and conducting public engagement activities.

We have an opening for the following position starting September 1, 2025.

Job Description

We are seeking a proactive, solution-oriented, and reliable Administrative Assistant to support our Professor and the group members in all administrative and organizational matters. This role is essential to ensuring the continued excellence of our research, teaching, and service. Responsibilities include:

  • Human resource functions
  • Accounting and finance (expenses, invoices, budgeting)
  • Financial administration of research projects

Profile

Your profile:

  • Several years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a university environment
  • Responsible, independent, systematic, and accurate work ethic
  • Enjoyment in engaging with diverse stakeholders and focusing on their needs
  • Strong planning, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Relevant education or training in finance, or equivalent practical experience
  • Willingness to pursue further training and knowledge acquisition in new tools
  • Very good command of German (B2) and English (C1), both oral and written
  • Solid computer skills in MS Office, SAP, and other relevant applications
  • Experience in event management and communication, with an affinity for technical applications and web CMS
  • Trustworthiness and reliability that contribute to the team’s mission
