Administrative Assistant at the Bioethics Lab

50%-60%, Zurich, permanent

The Health Ethics and Policy Lab (https://bioethics.ethz.ch/) investigates ethical and policy challenges in precision medicine and digital health. Our small team possesses interdisciplinary expertise in bioethics, philosophy, social science, medicine, public health, data science, policy, and law. We engage in high-level scholarship, participate in international research and policy networks, and conduct public engagement activities.

We have an opening for the following position from September 1, 2025.

Job Description

We are seeking a proactive, solution-oriented, and reliable Administrative Assistant to support the Professor and group members with all administrative and organizational tasks. This role is essential in ensuring the continued excellence of our research, teaching, and service activities. Responsibilities include:

  • Human resource functions
  • Accounting and financial administration, including expenses, invoices, and budget planning
  • Financial oversight of research projects

Profile

Your profile should include:

  • Several years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a university environment
  • A responsible, independent, and systematic approach to work
  • A passion for engaging with various stakeholders, prioritizing their needs
  • Strong planning, organizational, and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Completed education or training in finance, or relevant practical experience
  • A keen interest in further training and mastering new tools
  • Very good command of German (B2) and English (C1), both oral and written
  • Solid computer skills (MS Office, SAP, etc.) for efficient work
  • Experience in event management and communication, with an affinity for technical applications and web CMS
  • Trustworthiness and reliability in contributing to the team's mission
