The Swiss federal government has approved six new National Centres of Competence in Research (NCCRs) to strengthen key strategic research areas in Switzerland. Among these, ETH Zurich leads three NCCRs, including the NCCR “Genesis.” This initiative represents a significant opportunity for education, premier research, and the transfer of knowledge to industry and society.

The "Genesis" project explores the origin of life as a gradual transition from inanimate matter to living organisms. Managed in close collaboration with the University of Lausanne (UNIL), this center unites over 100 scientists from across Switzerland, fostering connections among the fields of biology, chemistry, astrophysics, and Earth and planetary sciences.

Position: Administration & Logistics Assistant

To bolster our project team and support the NCCR Director, we are excited to announce the new role of Administration & Logistics Assistant. This position reports to the NCCR Finance & Administration Manager and plays a crucial part in the operational success of the NCCR.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day general administrative support to the Finance & Administration Manager, including processing purchase orders, invoices, expenses, and tracking minor expenditures.
  • Assist in the on-/offboarding of ETH Zurich personnel regarding administrative tasks.
  • Organize and coordinate logistics for meetings, workshops, conferences, and reviews, encompassing room bookings, travel arrangements, accommodation, catering, and on-site logistics.

Qualifications

  • Commercial degree or equivalent.
  • Eager to learn and develop new skills.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Programs and Social Media tools.
  • Well-organized, service-oriented with a hands-on mentality.
  • Proficient language skills in German and English.
  • A collaborative team player with a sense of humor.
