In this newly created role, reporting to the Head of Manufacturing Technology & Investments, you will play a crucial part in AM industrialization for turbocharger components. You will engage directly with advanced metal AM processes, supporting the entire value chain from design and production to quality assurance.
Your Responsibilities
- Manage and evaluate AM part requests, planning and executing operations using CAD, CAM, and ERP tools.
- Oversee all stages of AM operations, including design, build preparation, post-processing, quality control, and documentation.
- Analyze in-situ and post-print data to drive continuous improvement and support the industrialization and commercialization of AM.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of AM process chains to identify optimization opportunities; apply first principles and root cause analysis to provide technical recommendations to stakeholders.
- Support material, process, and part qualification by developing and implementing robust quality assurance methods and processes.
- Collaborate with R&D, Value Chain, and Product teams to streamline AM and qualification processes for turbocharger parts, ensuring efficiency and scalability.
- Act as a cross-functional bridge between R&D, engineering, operations, and business teams—translating technical insights into impactful outcomes.
Your Background
- A degree in a relevant engineering field (e.g., Mechanical Engineering with a focus on metal manufacturing technologies, or equivalent).
- At least 3 years of professional or academic experience in design, process development, and/or operation in the metal AM industry.
- Hands-on expertise in Laser Powder Bed Fusion is essential; Design for AM experience is a plus.
- Strong proficiency in CAD and metal AM build preparation (CAM) tools.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and a deep passion for Additive Manufacturing.
- Experience in agile, cross-functional teams; project management skills are an advantage.
- Excellent communication skills in English are required; proficiency in German is an asset.
