Mission
We are seeking a qualified professional in financial accounting and controlling for an international industrial company to support the regional sales organization in Switzerland. This critical role encompasses oversight of all financial processes in the region, coordination of accounting activities, and provision of strategic support to Local Management in financial decision-making and international reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting Management & Reporting
- Manage, control, and analyze the company’s financial information (P&L and BS) in all aspects, including Annual Statutory Accounts, Reporting, Budget, and Forecast, with the support of the local team, external advisors, and the Regional Controller.
- Ensure compliance with Tax and Legal requirements from local institutions, cooperating with External Accounting, Tax, Legal, and HR advisors. This includes full responsibility for Swiss VAT (MWST) returns, social security declarations, corporate income tax filings, and provisional tax calculations.
- Support Local management with business needs (General Manager and company managers) and Headquarters.
- Prepare ad-hoc reports, collaborating with management to create necessary reports for effective business management.
- Present monthly financial key metrics to the General Manager and Area Controller, ensuring alignment and providing periodic updates to the management team.
- Monitor the company’s budget to identify deviations and propose action plans as needed.
- Guide management to achieve company targets and adapt to the evolution of key figures (EBITDA, Stock, NWC, FCF).
Operations, Accounting, and Control
- Oversee and understand the operative processes (sales, warehouse/logistics operations) and their financial implications.
- Validate internal controls as necessary and ensure consistency in information.
- Collaborate with local management on key financial topics, including rebates, payment terms, collections, aging follow-up, and margins.
- Conduct monthly closing activities (P&L and Balance Sheet), including accruals, provisions, reconciliations, and intercompany processes.
Liabilities Control – Payroll and Taxes
- Coordinate with HR on personnel expenses, provide closing figures, and assist in Budget and Forecast processes, including monthly reviews vs. Actuals.
- Work with HR/Payroll providers on monthly payroll processes and manage personnel-related provisions.
- Conduct monthly follow-ups on Capex vs. budget and Fixed Assets valuation.
- Prepare cash forecasts and meet Treasury Department HQ requirements, while controlling cash & bank balances.
- Perform statistical analysis on Sales & Margins based on local business needs by customer, family, SKU, or specific operations.
Coordination of Internal/External Statistical Requirements
- Implement timely corrective actions for any deviations detected by the Internal Audit department, supporting process improvement initiatives.
- Engage in monthly reviews with the General Manager and Area Controller.
- Adopt a proactive approach, adding value to financials and the business, while acting as a liaison between the Company and HQ.
Candidate Profile
Qualifications Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in Finance, with a strong foundation in Financial Accounting and Controlling tasks.
- Thorough understanding of Swiss accounting standards, IFRS, and the local tax and regulatory landscape.
- Proven experience in preparing Swiss VAT returns, social security declarations, and corporate income tax returns.
- Exceptional organizational skills, emphasizing attention to detail and accuracy.
- Experience in intercompany reconciliation (P&L and Balance Sheet), monthly closings, and international group reporting is highly desirable.
- A reliable, proactive, and collaborative approach with a clear focus on supporting business decisions and driving continuous improvement.
- Fluency in German and English is required; proficiency in French is an advantage.
