Job Opportunity: Account Manager
We are seeking an experienced Account Manager to join our sales team, reporting directly to the Key Account Management (KAM) Lead. In this pivotal role, you will manage a portfolio of complex client accounts, build strong relationships, and gain insights into how clients utilize our data to foster their continued growth and success. This position offers an engaging blend of relationship management, commercial responsibility, and collaboration with internal teams. We are looking for a candidate who is curious, structured, and proactive. This role is offered as maternity cover for an existing Account Manager position, with the possibility of continuation based on organizational needs and mutual interest.
Key Responsibilities
Client Relationship Ownership
- Serve as the primary commercial contact for assigned client accounts, establishing trusted, long-term relationships.
- Develop a thorough understanding of each client’s organization, priorities, sustainability objectives, and key stakeholders.
- Maintain regular, structured communication to stay informed about client developments and plans.
Supporting Client Value Creation
- Ensure clients can leverage our data into solutions, tools, or workflows that deliver tangible value.
- Regularly assess the relevance of existing solutions and ensure they continue delivering value over time.
- Encourage clients to reflect on their evolving data usage while inspiring additional relevant use cases.
- Act as a thoughtful partner, integrating sustainability goals with practical data applications.
Commercial & Account Management
- Grow assigned client accounts by expanding value-creating use cases and commercial scope.
- Oversee the commercial development of assigned accounts, including renewals and extensions.
- Understand contractual and licensing frameworks to navigate discussions about scope, usage, and coverage.
- Proactively identify changes in client usage, organization, or tools that may impact the commercial setup.
- Provide structured insights into forecasting, encompassing timing, value changes, risks, and context.
Strategic Account Planning
- Plan and implement account strategies aimed at strengthening relationships and expanding relevant use cases.
- Monitor client activity, market developments, and public signals (e.g., sustainability commitments, partnerships, product launches) to assess their relevance.
- Convert observations into actionable insights or opportunities for discussion.
Coordination & Internal Collaboration
- Coordinate client matters across internal teams (e.g., legal, technical, product, operations) to ensure timely responses.
- Act as the client advocate within the organization and facilitate alignment across functions.
- Maintain accurate CRM documentation regarding account status, opportunities, and key developments.
- Contribute to enhancing internal processes and workflows within the account management team.
Qualifications
Experience & Background
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in B2B account management, sales, consulting, or a similar client-facing commercial role.
- Proven expertise in commercial contracts, negotiation, and collaboration with legal teams.
- Familiarity with commercial planning and forecasting cycles, including renewals, budgeting timelines, and revenue explanations.
- Proficient in using CRM systems (e.g., HubSpot) and applying structured account management practices.
- Experience in sustainability, environmental data, or related fields is highly advantageous.
- Exceptional communication skills in English; proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
