Uniworld Boutique River Cruises owns and operates a fleet of eleven intimate, boutique river cruise ships on the European waterways, catering exclusively to English-speaking clients.
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated professional to support our Nautical Team in the role of 1st Captain. This is an exciting opportunity to lead and manage a talented team while ensuring the utmost safety and luxury for our guests.
Key Responsibilities
- Navigating the ship according to company guidelines and safety regulations.
- Ensuring the safety of all passengers and crew on board.
- Overseeing maintenance of our ships during the operational season and winter.
- Professionally managing the Nautical Team.
- Communicating effectively with the Hotel Manager and Cruise Manager onboard.
Qualifications
- Experience in a similar role on the Rhine-Main-Danube waterways.
- Experience with Z-Drive systems is a plus, but not mandatory.
- Possession of a license for the Rhine until Mainz and/or the Danube.
- Innovative, flexible, and proactive leadership qualities.
- Ability to communicate fluently in German and/or English, both verbally and in writing.
- Competency in computer applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Willingness to learn and grow in your professional role.
