Your Mission

Job Description

  • Patent Advisory and Innovation Mining: Advise on patenting and related matters while fostering sustainable innovation across the organization.
  • IP and Inventor Enablement: Facilitate the management of IP topics by guiding inventors and ensuring their readiness for future projects.
  • Technology and Product Landscape Monitoring: Continuously monitor product innovations and the evolving technology landscape at Climeworks.
  • Inventor and Expert Interface: Serve as the essential bridge between inventors and innovation protection experts, ensuring efficient communication and collaboration.
  • Patent Portfolio and Scientific Analysis: Conduct a deep analysis of Climeworks’ patent portfolio and relevant scientific literature to provide valuable technical insights.
  • Core Technology Ownership: Take ownership of core technology domains with a focus on patent filing and ongoing maintenance.
  • Continuous Improvement: Refine and streamline Climeworks’ innovation mining and protection approaches to help maintain our position as an industry leader.

Your Story

Requirements

  • Scientific and Technical Foundation: A background in science or engineering with a broad, practical understanding of diverse technical topics and a curious technical mindset.
  • Patent Qualification and Legal Expertise: A qualified patent attorney (CH, EU, and/or US) with solid knowledge of EU and US patent laws.
  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in patent prosecution and active management of patent portfolios.
  • Working Style: Trustworthy and reliable, with the ability to drive projects to completion independently supported by a strategic mindset.
  • Adaptability and Agility: Capable of swiftly adapting to new challenges and shifting focus as priorities evolve in a dynamic environment.
  • Language Proficiency: Proficiency in English, both spoken and written.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience in patent litigation.
  • Previous in-house roles in multinational companies.
  • Robust expertise in engineering, chemistry, or both.
  • Experience driving cross-functional projects to successful outcomes.
  • Conversational ability in German.
